Power of Rewriting Your Story: From Stiff Upper Lip to Sovereign Self

Empower Your Story: How to Revisit the Past and Free Your Future

Hello, beautiful soul. Welcome back to Empowerment Diariesยฎ where we focus on Stories That Free Us. In this episode, we are looking at the power of rewriting our storyโ€”revisiting the past so that we can have a freer future.

Is your story acting like an anchor? Lita Goddess of Growth explores cultural narratives and her transition to the Creator Economy to help you Empower Your Story.

As we age, we become more aware that the present is all we truly have. Having the courage to revisit your story without allowing it to bring you down is the ultimate victory for your mind and soul. What if the stories you carryโ€”about your past, your culture, or your capabilitiesโ€”are the very things keeping you from the support and connection you deserve?

In this heartfelt and reflective conversation, I explore the profound courage it takes to revisit and rewrite our personal narratives. We go beyond the โ€œstiff upper lipโ€ and examine how inherited stoicism can manifest as physical and emotional ailment, blocking us from the collaborative, supportive flow of life.

Empower Your Story: A Year of Monumental Change

This episode is a personal reflection from a year of transition. As I build my career as a Creator Network Manager, take on an overgrown allotment against all odds, and learn to receive help from unexpected places, a central theme has emerged: our greatest growth happens not in isolation, but in connection.

In this conversation, I dive deep into:

    • โ€˜Stiff Upper Lipโ€™ Narrative: Challenging the unspoken rules about struggle, silence, and shame within British and Jamaican heritage, and how these cultural instructions can lead to physical and mental ailments.
    • A Shift in Career: My transition to becoming a Creator Network Manager and how my own story of survival evolved into an opportunity to thrive in the creator economy.
    • Allotment Lesson: A personal story of how the universe provided support exactly when I was ready to give up on my new plot of landโ€”a reminder that help often comes from unexpected places.
    • Best Currency: Why connection and collaboration are more valuable than any financial resource in our current 2026 climate.
    • Practical First Steps: Moving from traumatic, stuck-record repetition to empowered rewriting through journaling, therapy, and the courageous questioning of: “Is it true?”

Revisiting your story isn’t about dwelling on the past; it’s about addressing the narrative so you can reclaim your power and listen to your own soul force. Whether through Emotional Freedom Techniques, astrology, or simple honesty, you have the ability to free your future from the weight of the past.

This is an invitation to examine the story youโ€™re living by. Are you ready to write a new one and truly Empower Your Story?

Listen to the full episode below. You can also read the full transcript of this story in the accordion section following the audio.

    Lita (00:00)
Hello, this is Lita here Goddess of Growth here to do another episode of Empowerment Diaries. Today we’re looking at the power of rewriting our story, revisiting the past so that we can have a freer future. Being in the present and being free is very much a

great victory also. And ultimately as we age, present is all we have. Present is all we have throughout all of our lives. But as we age, we become more aware of time and space. Having the courage to revisit our story without allowing it to bring us down is really key.

to freeing our minds and freeing our soul and maybe if you have the opportunity to speak to the characters that were involved in your story taking that opportunity now might be the key to freeing not just your mind but your path. In the UK we do have

the thoughts of having what they call a stiff upper lip or the phrase keep calm and carry on. I am of British-born Jamaican heritage and it is the case that we are often encouraged to be like comedians in the workspace. One would speak the best English possible when we’re in our community.

tapping into patois. We adapt ourselves, we’re like the natural multilingual or bilingual โ“ people in the society that we are in the UK. But either way, whichever culture you are from, there’s often this hidden instruction

that whatever you’re going through needs to be kept quiet and people generally shouldn’t know about it. Maybe because there’s issues connected to shame, maybe because the issues are directly linked to your immediate family. And of course, from young age to old age, we have things like social media now.

that could have a huge effect on our life chances especially when we’re thinking about work, growth, career and so forth. But truly the stiff upper lip in my opinion can lead to a lot of ailments not just mentally, physically too.

There’s something about just holding on to something that feels uncomfortable no matter what is going on that really doesn’t fully resonate and our bodies start to rebel. Previously I’ve gone through my

modality of choice for therapy, emotional freedom techniques which is a really great tool to continually help tapping into how we’re feeling right now, it doesn’t dismiss how we feel it connects with it and just asks us to just check in as to if what we’re feeling is rooted into the truth or not and even if it is rooted in the truth the question still is the case where it remains

to be asked even if it’s true is there anything that you can do about it right now and often when you ask anyone how they are they spend a bit of time thinking about what just happened or moments before or weeks before or years before or maybe how they’d like to feel in the future

very few tap into this moment and in this very moment this might be the very moment that we actually feel okay. We’re comfortable, we can breathe, nothing is in mind, we can relax. In this moment we are often okay.

There is a difference between accepting the past and being stuck in it and I do know through my own journey of life of being in that repetition, repetition, repetition and freeing myself from it to the point where it’s quite a lot of energy for me now to talk about the past, childhood and so.

However, the universe has a way of bringing our past to us in increments for us to deal with it and it does happen in the strangest ways.

So personally I have been transitioning my career. I recently took on a post as a creator network manager through a social media platform TikTok.

And my task is to talent manage and grow a productive and successful live agency, basically working with creators to encourage them to host successful live streams on TikTok.

Now for those that know me, I have actually been transitioning my career for the last two, almost two and a half years now. Finance has disappeared, the old way was no longer working, so I had to find ways to promote my consultancy, my hypnotherapy, my coaching.

I decided and was encouraged to join TikTok as the up and coming growing modality to grow in social media on social media and somehow I ended up going to LifeStream with a view of promoting my business. Well life doesn’t often go in a straight line does it?

instead of just doing my business I did get involved with other things shoppable content, networking. I managed to host just a couple subscriptions where I was able to provide coaching, nothing significant.

So roll forward to 2025 being given this opportunity, offer this opportunity to run my very own creator network. I do believe it is the great opportunity to share all the experiences that I have accumulated on the platform and off the platform for growth.

It’s given me an opportunity to do what I enjoy, which is coaching. And those that I coach will not need to pay me a thing because the platform will be able to pay me according to what is earned going live stream. It does not come out of the creator’s income. It is something that is paid directly from the platform to the creator network. Stories.

The interesting thing is for a while I felt as if the

platform had actually stopped my work from going out, from being seen, but evidently something was being seen.

and I find myself in this space now changing careers of sorts and having to believe in my ability not just to coach but to also succeed at yet another new business.

    stories.

I’ve recently this year around April received a plot on an allotment to look after all on my own.

In fact when I registered my details in 2020 I was told it would be likely that I wouldn’t get it because there was a 10 year waiting list. Lo and behold five years later almost the plot was offered to me and I’m telling you it has been work.

and I woke up one morning quite frustrated and I was saying to the universe why have you given this plot to me and I do not have the resources the finances the time whatever it takes to get the plot how I would like it to be to make it viable it really doesn’t make sense by day end I had

a few resolutions about the plot. I was able to go and pick some fruit. Fruit has actually ripened much earlier than expected this year. They’re very much in season. I was expecting the currants and so raspberries to be ready by end of June July but they’re ready. Anyhow in going to the plot

I met a couple that have a space there and apparently the team of them had spoken and they were thinking of offering their time to assist me in clearing the plot. Apparently the plot had become overrun over two years and they felt it was a bit unfair to give me the plot to take on with so much work needing to be done.

So there we have the universe, even before I started complaining to the universe, working out a solution for me so that I will be able to move forward and create a space on the land, on the plot, where it will be something that I’ll be able to use it gracefully, usefully, productively.

That has been the theme of my life really over the last two and a half years. Help and support has come from unexpected places and part of me, and this is the story I tell myself, has been a bit annoyed that all the work that I’ve been doing I have not been able to cover myself.

on my own given all the hours and time spent so there is a bit of annoyance about that for sure but looking at all the angels and the support that I’ve received over the last two and a half years I do believe life is really truly amazing. It’s as if I am being reminded that actually when support is needed and I’m on the right path

support will be provided, but without opening my mind and challenging my ideas on help and support it can often seem quite difficult even to ask for help or receive help.

A lot of our ideas about receiving assistance, whether it be loans, whether it be assistance putting up a frame in the house, help with a garden, help cooking a meal. A lot of those ideas we take on from our parents and our ancestors, environment.

and sometimes spirit does remind us that actually this life that we’re living it isn’t a solitary affair it is one that is very much reliant on connections and collaboration even those that choose to live off-grid they rely on others collecting foods

presenting spaces that they themselves can use whether or not they pay for it.

One of our challenges is to tap into our sense of guilt, our sense of shame for asking for assistance or needing assistance. The fact of the matter is the majority of the population, and if this is a fact, they would not survive if they did not have support.

I would say all and everyone that we meet needed some level of support and still need support to be able to live the life that we’re whether we admit it or not. And today, 2025, more people have become aware of their need for support. The cost of living crisis.

There’s definitely anxiety. All I keep hearing from others is I speak to clients and so, โ“ dear, the costs just keep going up and up and up. And sometimes we can look at the costs without looking at the rest of the picture. We are being tasked, we are being asked to connect, to partner, to collaborate. โ“

This is the trajectory, this is what we are being tasked by spirit to do, to come together, to identify our strengths and connect it, balance out our weaknesses by coming together with others that will balance out our weaknesses, complement our strengths. We’re now looking at our personal identity in a whole new way.

and we’re thinking about our personal identity, we understand resources in our hands aren’t the only influence. The best currency at this time, especially when you’re thinking about social media, even stocks and shares, the best currency at this time is really your connection to people that you know. โ“

So when you’re assessing your story, maybe now is the time to start looking at how much time you’re taking and putting aside to nurture relationships. And I’m not talking about the relationships you’ve had since childhood that never change. We are growing and as we are growing, we are evolving and we all need to have relationships that reflect our growth.

whether they be challenging or otherwise. As we grow, the majority of the people around us will change. Are you open to that change? If not, why not?

Now I know there’s a number of people that like to consider the English language and there’s this idea if you change the meaning of certain words to positive then life will be positive and so I challenge you to question that part of the story.

Ultimately it’s not so much what we think but what we feel about our story. We can change all the words, we can change the identities, it doesn’t take away the nuance, it doesn’t take away the feeling or does it?

We are taught often to be polite and I suspect this idea of changing words makes us feel as if we’ve got more control over circumstances. But when we are challenged, that emotion, that feeling that prevents us from looking at the bigger picture is what comes forward. We are challenged to look at our story on a micro level

through family and friend lens but let’s not forget what we are seeing in our immediate circle is often replicated in the world at large.

It is so easy when we hear something on the news to say them they. And often we do not acknowledge that the same behaviour we are seeing on the news is the same behaviour that’s happening in our household, our family unit, our friend connection.

and this is often the case until we start identifying and tapping into our story to really zone in to what is true. As we confront our story, the characters change, the life experience change, we no longer need those mirrors to come back to us to show us places in our life that needs healing because that’s all it is really, a lifetime of being challenged with different scenarios

different stories to check into our values and return us back to love and connection with ourselves first and each other. Can we truly free ourselves without understanding our story and what it is that we have tapped into and used to encourage levels of oppression even.

This word trauma gets bounded around quite frequently these days and yes there’s loads of traumatic events. The fact of the matter is it affects us all differently. It’s all about what story we are running at the time when the so-called traumatic event happens.

9 11 I was in Barbados at the time I’d gone to a beach and in fact I had observed the planes going into the buildings I thought I was watching a movie even I remember the flight home to the UK it being so surreal that I remember them being worried about giving us water you know liquids and so forth

That was my story, it wasn’t traumatic at all. I was on the beach and I found out and I remember going home to my sisters and questioned if they’d heard about it. We don’t generally watch the news when we’re abroad. We turned on the television and was like, wow. Years later, I heard how my sister who was in the UK had experienced the whole scenario.

And for the first time I was challenged to empathise with those that were in the UK hearing about what had happened. Offices had closed down in London, the whole of London was under, in a panic. Businesses, government offices were closed, people had to walk rather than take the bus home.

lots of first security measures were put in place almost I suppose the measures that they would put in place at wartime it’s not a memory I have because I did not go through it but there’s so many more that would have gone through at that time and isn’t it interesting a lot of us in the UK will talk about 9-11

We often do not remember the big events that happened in the UK where we had bombings here as well, even though I know older colleagues were personally affected.

So stories are there to challenge us, wake us up and to connect in. Check in to how we are connected to any given scenario and each other.

and until we take that time to question the story, think about the global environment at the time, think about the emotion, who was around, what actually happened and if you can go back to ask questions until we do that, it’s hard to be free. And when I talk about addressing the story I don’t mean that traumatic repetition of things that happened years ago.

because I know we’ve all done that or the majority of us have and made little progress. So this is about rewriting the narrative, addressing the narrative and being in a position to rewrite it. So I’ve mentioned before journaling, writing the story, being prepared to spend some time, get a book, get a pen and write.

when you’re ready you could reread it, you can keep it for a while and then tear the pages and burn it, not before of course you check in, was it true? And if it’s true what does it mean for you? Therapy is also an option whether it be hypnotherapy or if you want to go for counselling, we are our story.

what we think about ourselves resonates out into the world and from personal experience sitting and talking to friends and family may not always be healing. There are friends and families that will often appease or try to soothe.

As you age you come to realise there will be many people that sit and talk with us, with you, and you will think that they fully understand you and they’re on the same page, they get it. And actually when you readdress the situation years later you will find nothing could be further from the truth actually.

there was no agreement, we learned that actually someone’s silence whilst they listen is not a sign they agree with you at all, they’re just giving you that space to communicate. You might feel really connected, finally someone listens and someone understands, but truly according to my own personal experienceโ€ฆ

it’s the case that very few people fully resonate with the experience that you’re going through, very few. Some of us are blessed, I have been very blessed, aunts and so that have been able to not just witness my story but also reaffirm my story. Unfortunately not many people have that.

So taking time out to go and see a therapist, a counsellor, someone outside of your network so that you can just speak and get it out of your system is helpful too. But don’t stay long in that space. Honesty is important too. You need to be prepared to ask questions.

Coaching is the tool that can start asking you questions. Yes, so that happened and that happened and that happened. It’s 10 years now. How is it affecting you today? Is that by choice?

What’s the benefit of you holding onto that opinion, that story today? What are you getting out of it? Is this the time now to let go of your old story? At what point will be the right time?

What do you lose by letting your story go? What do you gain by letting your story go?

Culture can play a significant factor as into how we hold on to our story. There’s some kind of honour and medal, one would say, especially if you’re coming from Caribbean roots, to have been raised in a family where corporal punishment was used and you were able to survive it somehow.

It’s almost seen as you’re a weaker minded individual if you were even to dare to think, to talk about it being something that affected you mentally, emotionally or otherwise.

taking that decision and step to review your story and heal your story, distance yourself from your story and maybe do something different with the next generation, your children, your nieces, your nephews, your connections, that decision could actually distance you from your culture.

because here you are taking your story and healing it affecting your ancestors, your previous generations and generations to come.

not everybody has the energy or the mindset to do that work but that is work that a select few will do.

It’s about acknowledging that our identities can be very present regardless of what we’ve been through. In spite of what we’ve been through.

So today I am reflecting on our story and what is it that we need to do to really just check into our narrative, the small steps that we’re able to take and focus on so that we can now take our power back, empower ourselves even if it means rewriting our story.

question as we come to a close what’s the one story you’ve told yourself that no longer serves you what is the one story you’ve told yourself that no longer serves you when you get familiar with your story

When others attempt to tell you your story or use your story against you it will not bother you because you’ll understand that there’s a real power in your journey in your story and the lens that you’ve been looking at yourself it just widens.

opportunities come you’re able to connect more easily with others even without asking it’s like the universe starts putting new experiences newer connections in your life there’s less fear-based focus there’s more love there’s more connection it doesn’t happen overnight it does take an effort it takes an intention

Start with the journaling, look at your story and be focused on your story. If you’re now ready to empower your life, free your future, free your mind.

    Architecture of Transformation

Rewrite Your Story: Healing Past Narratives with Lita, Goddess of Growth – Have you ever felt as though life was happeningย toย you, rather thanย forย you? Many of us find ourselves stuck in a loop of fear, regret, or a persistent sense of “not enough”. This was my reality until I discovered the tools required to rewire my life for a complete personalย transformation.

Most of us make life-altering decisions based on stories we adopted in childhoodโ€”but what happens when you realise those stories arenโ€™t even yours? In this space, I deconstruct the tools that took me from feeling trapped to living a life of radical sovereignty. Welcome to Empowerment Diariesยฎ; here, stories become medicine.

Breaking the Cycle: From Hackney to Sovereignty

Growing up in Hackney as the eldest of four in a single-parent household, my early years were defined by survival. I escaped into books and daydreamsโ€”a coping mechanism that served me well until it didnโ€™t. By age 17, I had left home, entered a marriage, and experienced divorce within two years.

Whilst I returned to education and gained a business degree, I eventually realised that academic success alone cannot heal childhood trauma. Real change began in 2009 when I trained as a hypnotherapist and discovered Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). It was EFT that finally presented the breakthrough I needed. Until then, my mind was full of repetitive stories attached to past traumas. I only focused on the “why” and could never understand it.

EFT: A Tool for Emotional Maturity

EFT taught me how to review my story from a higher perspective. It requires gentle tapping on meridian pointsโ€”similar to acupunctureโ€”to release the “decay” of old belief systems. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, stress, or low self-esteem, EFT acts as a “nod to the universe” that you are ready for transformation.

Sovereign Tapping Guide EFT- I can demonstrate this during a livestream – join me:

    1. Top of Head | 2. Eyebrow | 3. Side of Eye | 4. Under Eye | 5. Under Nose | 6. Chin | 7. Collarbone | 8. Under Arm

    Navigating Seasons with Astrology

Alongside therapeutic tools, astrology has been a vital guide. I donโ€™t use it for divination, but rather to understand the “time and the season”. During my Saturn Return in my late twenties, astrology provided the sanity needed to pivot from a period of unemployment to purchasing my first home and embarking on my therapeutic career. It helps find sanity when there is insanity around you.

    An Invitation to Grow

At 50, I have come to understand that the stories we carry from childhood are often based on untruths. We choose our jobs, our partners, and our boundaries based on outdated scripts. Now is the time to question the story. Whether through EFT, hypnoanalysis, or centring ourselves to hear the “Source Within,” we have the power to create a life of balance and joy.

    A 2026 Perspective

This podcast was recorded in April 2025; needless to say, a lot has changed since my early recordings. I no longer list episode numbers, as each episode I record on this journey of life stands on its own. What is most interesting is that the transformation I spoke of then is the very one I am still moving through now, only life has moved on greatly. In curating these archives from 2025, I realise just how much growth has truly occurred.

I hope you enjoy this episode and find inspiration for your own journey. Remember: we are all on unique paths, and comparison is unhelpful. Listen to yourselfโ€”the messages will come eventually.

What story are you ready to rewrite?

What story are you ready to rewrite?

    Lita (00:02)
Hello, to the first episode, Finding Freedom from Feeling Trapped to Transform.

Have you ever felt like life was happening to you, not for you? Like you were stuck in a loop of fear, regret or not enough? Well, that was me until I discovered the tools that rewired my life. Welcome to the Empowerment Diaries. I’m Lita and this space is where stories become medicine.

My journey as such, the eldest child raised with a single parent, my mother, one of four in the household, corporal punishment was the norm of the time. Some would say how it was meted out was not so normal. However,

Through those years, especially from early childhood, I escaped into books, fantasies, daydreams as my coping mechanism to get through life. By age 17, I left home.

and some would say ran away from home.

Not long after the age of 17, I entered my first marriage.

and it was followed swiftly by divorce within two years, at which point I returned to education, taking up a degree in business. Very hopeful that my universe, my world will open up.

Actually, things didn’t really change for me until 2009 when I took up training. Initially it was supposed to be training as a counselor stroke psychotherapist. I embarked on the course and ended up being trained and coached as a hypnotherapist with counseling skills.

taken on additional courses to include emotional freedom techniques, hypnoanalysis, EMDR, all alternative therapies. It was EFT or emotional freedom techniques that finally presented the right breakthrough that I needed. You see until then my mind was full of

repetitive thoughts, repetitive stories often stuck and attached to my childhood traumas. I couldn’t see anything else, couldn’t do anything else. I only focused on the why, could never understand it. When I came upon emotional freedom techniques, I was encouraged through the practice to start looking at

the situation as is. I now know we’ll only ever know a version of truth. The whole truth may never be something that comes into our awareness. What’s important is our feeling against any and every given scenario, particularly if it is

something that is blocking us from moving forward with a sense of peace contentment

being present. Emotional freedom techniques gives us the opportunity to exercise emotional intelligence, maturity. We’re able to go within, tap into how we feel without justifying it to anyone, allowing ourselves to tap into our emotions, our feelings, those ones that don’t make us feel so great and take time to acknowledge it.

Give thanks for it, respect it, let it go.

So emotional freedom techniques taught me how to review my story.

at a higher level, a higher perspective.

Emotional freedom techniques has taught me the power of forgiveness, self-love, spiritual awareness, self-acceptance.

Emotional freedom techniques requires gentle tapping, some would say symbolic, some say it mirrors tapping into the meridian points as one would have acupuncture. I still do not know after so many years why it works or how it does what it does so well. What I know

somehow it’s as if the spirit gets involved and areas that we aren’t so aware of become clearer in our consciousness, in our life experience and we’re able to look at a comfortable distance as it’s almost as if life chips the decay away.

I know we’re in an age and a stage of life where everyone now understands what most people do. What we focus on is what we bring into our reality. Each thought and the momentum with it brings on a certain life experience. Emotional freedom techniques is about capturing how we feel in this moment, whether it be good, bad or indifferent.

Usually you’ll only do it when you’re not so comfortable with your emotion, be it anger, be it stress, anxiety, something that’s got you off balance. Because our ultimate state, ultimate, penultimate state is to be in a balanced state. That is the space that we can be creative, tapping into our true selves, connect with others naturally, lovingly.

also tapping into opportunities and that flow of life that we also desperately would want to live on a daily basis. Mind you, we are human. We do have prompts that are innate in us. It’s important that we have that access to contrast, whether it be fear, whether it be cold, whether it be hot.

sadness versus happiness whatever it is we need that contrast so that we have a almost thermometer, barometer to guide us on how to make a decision

That’s most of us. Some of us, and there is a, I don’t know if it’s a minority, but there’s definitely people out there I’m aware of that practice just being in the flow.

There’s no sadness, there’s no anxiety, there’s just being, waking up in the morning and just seeing what the day holds. I’m not there as yet. And that is not my focus. My focus with emotional freedom techniques and the tools that I use is to get to the stage where I’m fully enjoying my day. And like Domino’s, have more moments of

contentment so more days come forward where I just feel gratitude and the gratitude comes first.

Embracing the story is important. I know when we come from certain backgrounds, mine being what it was, single parent upbringing and obviously we say obviously because it’s not obvious actually, people have different stories. There’s single parents out there that’s very wealthy raising their children to go to private school, etc etc. I happen to be born in โ“

London, Hackney and Yale. Single parent resources were as they were. I would say looking back because stories go where stories go and understanding economics my life financially was so much better then than a lot of the children live today. Resources we had

In those days you would have housing, kind of a benefit system, supplemented work, supplemented nurseries. There were so many more opportunities to support single parents in my day than exist now. So this is where we’re talking about the story. The story that we carry with ourselves that makes us believe

whether we have had a life of abundance or lack, it’s all relative actually. We cannot heal ourselves by ignoring the past, we have to acknowledge the past. With our adult minds we can actually take time to question, did that really happen? What was going on around about that time?

Some of us went to schools where there was many other children that were raised in single parent households. So it might have been seen the norm versus others that went to environments where it was seen as still taboo. So you’re going to have a different energy, a different idea and understanding as to how equipped you were through childhood based on your upbringing.

your cultural difference and the environment that you were in.

Emotional freedom techniques is one tool for us to tap into, to look at our story and the reason we do that is to really identify our belief system because it’s our belief system that encourages us to put on weight, to take on a medication for pain, to decide whether to go for a walk or to lay in bed all day. Belief systems are attached and linked into our

core story, what we believe about ourselves and each other, life generally. So part of healing is being able to understand our story, accept our story, embrace our story, the good, the bad and the indifferent. And there are tools that will eventually help us all understand everything is in perfect order, no matter how

what sadness there might be in any given situation that we may go through. Again, we’ve got the contrast, sadness and happiness needed for our own growth and development. We are to identify our past and that is where the beauty of our healing is. Now I know many have gone to counselling and people talk about

sitting down and spending time going through their story. I will say to you our stories are relative and as we age we come to understand that the things that we thought were true may not necessarily be true. Can you imagine a whole lifetime, I’m 50 now, a whole lifetime making decisions based on what we thought we knew in childhood.

like how we decide to relate with our significant others or even in terms of our friendship networks, the kinds of jobs that we choose. All those decisions based on what we saw in childhood only to find at 40, 50 and so it wasn’t true or what we thought was the situation was so not the situation.

How many times have you had opportunities and chosen not to go forward because of what you thought had happened to someone else? Or even according to what you thought happened to yourself? Only to find out much later that your decision making was based on an untruth.

The time is now to question the story, to tap into the belief. Emotional freedom techniques can help with that. I will say another tool that’s really helped me in my lifetime has been astrology. I read astrology not for divination because I’m definitely not psychic. I read astrology just to guide me on the time and the season. Since I was a child, I used to get as a gift

a, as I would be told, an almanac. A little astrology booklet telling me about transits and so I didn’t understand it at all. I thought it was going to tell me about the future and so and I didn’t quite understand it. Friends and I would get involved in horoscopes and then I no longer believed in horoscopes. It was my, just before my 30s, Saturn Return.

when I started to absorb and take on so much information on astrology because it was the only thing that was explaining what I was going through. I found myself out of work and in a bit of a dump and really not sure as to which way I was going forward. I wanted to purchase a first home of my own.

Having had a lifetime of wanting to find some kind of stability, a place of my own, I found myself in a shared house of men. I rented a room downstairs, an all-inclusive situation which I found easier to manage. And for near two years I spent trying to identify what it is that I needed to do with my life.

Needless to say, by the end of that transit, I had got onto my therapeutic course. And actually, by the time I graduated from that course, I had purchased my home. Yeah, my first apartment. And that is, again, something that I’d like to address in this podcast.

that there are many stories in our life, sometimes many blockages, many hurtful experiences and I know hindsight is a thing, but when you look back you come to realise that all that pain, all that heartache, it was really like a birthing process to push us to our ultimate version of ourself. Had I not gone through that slump, I may not have bothered to push myself forward.

And recently, over the last two and a half years, I have gone through a shadow of change.

many things identified as blockages and stops that has been pushing me to change my focus on career, going towards more heart-centred living.

Astrology has helped me find the sanity when it seems as if there’s insanity around me. Nothing makes sense. It hasn’t failed me yet from the readings I’ve had. And I have definitely tried to fight against what I’ve read will happen and could happen and the influences of, definitely. Because ultimately I do believe we are.

I am the creator of my life. I understand on levels the interconnectedness of my actions and then the reactions from those actions. I also understand the genetics, the ancestry, the spirituality that brings everything forward to this moment in time.

Many times, like in my childhood when I escaped in books or daydreams, many times I will try to block out what it is I see around me. Sometimes it can get too much.

But when I have gone through that birthing process I then become ready to be in this moment and see things in this moment. I doubt I will ever see life as it is fully. I don’t know if I personally have that brain and mindset to fully see the full truth and reality of life as it is. What I understand is that this life is short.

and I do believe I have a contract, a life experience that I’m here to live and in living that experience I am expanding my soul’s connection and knowledge and then I’m gone.

life continues in another realm another dimension this isn’t all there is

There is this path of contrasts and that’s what we’re in, identifying the hot and the cold, our power of creation. And a lot of us have sped up the way that we create so much so that when we’re thinking things, it doesn’t take too long for it to manifest. And there’s no magic behind it. There’s just more centering.

more time spent listening. And I would say that a lot of us are tuned in because we were destined to be tuned in. I don’t personally believe spending time seated, meditating 10 hours a day, however long, is going to make me any more spiritual than I am today. I think there is a natural cycle that each individual has.

And when it comes to astrology, I am very interested in things like perfection charts, which clearly guides us to the fact that we’re all in this world, but in different worlds. I can now fully understand why judging another by my experience or that competition or comparison on a level is kind of nonsense.

Because one person’s path today could be to look at relationships. Another person’s path today, career, another travel, the fact that they’re all sitting down having a coffee, their paths are just overlaying and interacting with each other for the moment. But their path and journey continues, right? And we wouldn’t want to interfere with anyone’s path and journey.

Together we’re here to help each other elevate, right? Saturn return, I think for me was hard until I decided to go into the swing of it.

the latest change, I tried to beat the system because I read what could happen. So I did all manner of things to try and avert it and sat down one day and said, actually all of what I did didn’t do anything to prevent it. But then I reflected and I thought, actually it was my task to continue striving and fighting and trying to be the best that I can be in the situation.

and all of that experience will hold me in good stead. Had I not done all of that, I probably wouldn’t be here doing this podcast today. Because, regardless of what one reads in astrology, not everybody has the inclination to decide, actually, that experience is not what I want to participate in, so I’m going to stay in bed today. Or, I’m going to take a flight and go to a whole differentโ€ฆ

part of the world to avert that situation. Not everybody has that โ“ choice, freedom of choice, right? Some of us we have to stay in the space that we created before birth and go through that birthing process.

So I am here and I’d love to connect with you. I’d love to hear your story. What story is it that you are still carrying with you? Have you done a bit of journaling like I have and spent time rewriting your story or tapping into your story? What one story are you ready to rewrite?

Are your stories empowering you? And we have stories in stories in stories and we can pick up the story pick it up by how we interact with each other but forget the outside look at how we’re treating ourselves. I still have many stories that I’m working on this is a life journey this is โ“ a focus of growth.

I call myself the goddess of growth and I think about all those mythological stories of goddesses and gods and we understand that nobody is perfect. My focus is on competing with myself, being the best I can be in this moment and I need to learn to rest. I need to learn to surrender.

But I also need to learn how to be committed as well to the cause. It’s about balance, right? And sometimes I can do too much of one thing and then because I’ve done so much, not enough of another. I am learning though, a lot of the things that I’ve done over the last two years, it really has been a result of tapping into my intuition and taking time out to listen.

and that hasn’t failed me. Even in scenarios where one would think, wow, are you really doing that? Is that really happening? I have had to take a step back and just get quiet and listen to myself. See, that’s the learning come age 50. We went through decades of going to others, asking why, why, why.

By 30s we decide, okay, I don’t even care why this is how I want to live from here. I just want to have a better life. By 40, you’re questioning, why did I even bother? And I think by 50, you really understand these stories that we carried around. Whose stories are they? Even the people that told you their stories don’t believe their stories at this point. They’re just stories.

and spiritually we understand it’s our time to embrace our story to empower ourselves with our story and you know even at this point we get to a point of life where the bad stuff the bad stuff so what is what i needed to do to get to this point right had i known better i would have done better

There’s some experiences, in fact all of them, we would not be here today without them, right? What’s your story? Are you looking to rewrite your story? Another practice I enjoy doing is hypnoanalysis. That again is about going into your story. What’s nice about that, there’s a technique called free association used and your story is your story.

whether it’s be real or imagined, it’s about tapping into what you feel and releasing that. There is this idea, we only remember those things which have a feeling attached. And the idea is with free association, you’re tapping into those feelings, releasing how you think, whether it be shame, whatever it is that’s bringing that feeling to you that you find uncomfortable. And mind you, as I said before, know, our emotions are important, whether weโ€ฆ

Whatever we feel, need that emotion to understand where we are in life, how we feel about things. That’s how we grow. This is how we evolve by understanding how it is we feel, acknowledging it, not dismissing it, acknowledging it, tapping in and empowering ourself through it. So hypnoanalysis is a tool that can help us tap into our feeling and release those

things about ourselves, our story, that still have us feeling as if we should be holding ourselves back somewhat.

And what I like about hypnoanalysis is that often you’ll see people go through their cycle through hypnotherapy, go back to childhood, go back and see their behaviors. We start sessions where there’s a total blame on mother, father, sister, whatever. And then at some point there’s an acknowledgement, okay. Maybe, just maybe, I have had a part to do with this too.

Whether it was not being assertive enough, not having the confidence to do something, making up our minds to leave a situation, staying in a relationship too long or not giving enough time to a relationship.

not knowing the balance between restrictions, boundaries, surrender, giving, receiving. We’re all learning this is a journey we’re here to learn and we’re learning from each other. This podcast, I am no guru, I am open to learn from your story. I’d love to hear your story. That’s how I get to know this life. I don’t watch the news often these days.

But when I hear the news and I hear any updates, I do tend to laugh because even when you read astrology, you tend to see the synchronicities and the patterns. We tend to believe that we’re all on our own making these decisions and that’s it. But everything is interconnected. How we think, the conclusions we come to, everything.

They say there’s nothing new under the sun, not even us. So are you carrying a story from childhood, mother, father issues, friend issues? Do share with me. No judgment. This is a judgment free zone. I’d love to be able to receive some stories. I might even look at some charts, might do. I do not predict the future at all. It’s not for divination.

I just like to use it to find out a bit more about the person and help with coaching as well. That’s all. Time and season, that’s all.

If you’d like to share your story, you’d like a bit more clarity on your story, do get in touch with me, send me a message. In the meantime, I hope you have enjoyed this space and time I have spent with you. The next episode I will be looking into emotional freedom techniques a bit more and I will discussโ€ฆ

and show you how it is it can be used to help with anxiety. Emotional freedom technique is my daily technique. I don’t thinkโ€ฆ

Well, everybody’s different, I don’t get as anxious as I used to, but there are things that definitely push me off balance. And a lot of that is due to my attachment to things. I tend to find the things that matter the most tend to give me the most anxiety, like being in my home and paying a mortgage and finding I’m not able to pay, so then I’m a bit anxious about that.

even when I’m told don’t worry it’s going to be okay and sure enough it was okay but I still go through that process. So I’m definitely not here saying that emotional freedom techniques will stop you from worrying forever in the future. I think that takes more spiritual work and the spiritual understanding I mean I do look back often and think โ“ wow I spent so many months and years worrying about XYZ.

And I won’t say that I’m a theorist yet, but I do have an understanding that what will be will be. As I say, for me, it’s easier when there’s no attachment, right? But when you’re attached to something, and that is my personal lesson to release attachment. So I have to keep practicing emotional freedom techniques because that’s what helps release my stomach and makes me feel present. And actuallyโ€ฆ

be aware and joyful when I see the synchronicities come in place, the opportunities open up and then I’m like wow, if only I had known. Then there’s no regret, it’s just like wow, โ“ wow, did that really happen, is this really happening? We need to make sure that we’re open and ready to listen.

And when I say listen, listen to ourselves, nobody else. The messages will come eventually. Sometimes the messages will come and you’ll think, huh? What’s that all about? That doesn’t make sense. And then later you’re looking for, โ“ that’s why. Yeah. So emotional freedom techniques, I think, is quite a spiritual tool as well.

It’s almost like a nod to the universe. I’m ready. I’m ready to do some work. I’m ready. Even though I don’t know why this story is bothering me so much. Jealousy, hatred, anger, helplessness, vulnerability, low self-esteem, whatever it is. Even though I don’t know how to cure it, how to deal with it. Emotional freedom techniques kind of like bring spiritual help and guidance.

So it’s not something that we have to logically try and resolve.
